Our History

Robert Elgart & Son Inc. began its business in 1948 and was incorporated in 1976.  Founded by Robert Elgart, control passed to his son, Arty Elgart, in 1969. 

In 1970 Robert Elgart & Son began its tradition of serving the Philadelphia automotive care and accessory market with a modest, but functional, 12,000 square foot warehouse.  Currently the company has approximately 2,000 customers and its product base now consists of about 20,000 SKUs located in a state-of-the-art 141,000 square foot facility that includes 22 loading docs with another 3.5 acres of ground for expansion.

The company has grown from 3 employees in 1948 to 100 plus with many of its employees being with the company for over 10 years.  Robert Elgart & Son gives its customers significant automotive experience in both sales and customer service.
